THE CHALLENGE

Boundless is an Employer of Record (EOR) helping companies employ people around the world seamlessly and compliantly. They take care of payroll, taxes and benefits so businesses can focus on growing their team with confidence.

Boundless operate across 30+ countries from their Dublin headquarters, and have built significant scale since their seed funding round.

Going through rapid growth and global expansion, Boundless needed to fill gaps within their finance function — quickly and at short notice. To keep operations running smoothly, they needed access to the right talent, at the right time.

For them, the solution was to bring in experienced finance professionals who could hit the ground running and understand the specific challenges they faced in their fast-growing, multi-entity business.

WHAT WE DID

We mobilised support within just two weeks of initial contact, helping Boundless plug their immediate gaps at a time where they needed all hands on deck.

Before long, our support evolved into a 5 days per week secondment, with one of our FinOps Analysts helping Boundless full-time.

Throughout our work, we have focused on areas like:

  • Ensuring tax compliance across 30+ international subsidiaries and more: Streamlining processes across 30+ entities and making sure there are robust structures in place to manage relevant operations across all jurisdictions.
  • Ownership of day-to-day finance operations: Taking on the consolidated reporting, balance sheet reconciliations (including 2024 year-end close), multi-entity payroll operations and more

With a flexible model, we were able to get Boundless exactly the right skillsets, at exactly the right time. This allowed Boundless to understand their future finance requirements — without the commitment, delay and risk of starting full-time hires.

THE RESULTS

Working together gave Boundless the stability and expertise they needed during a critical period.

As the business matured and grew more complex, they hired a CFO and subsequently recruited two members of our team directly — a real testament to the quality of our FinOps team.

This model meant Boundless got the best of both worlds; immediate support, the flexibility to scale and adapt support as they grew and ultimately the opportunity to bring the team in-house when the time was right.
